How to Uninstall Defender Pro when it is locking up your PC (VISTA)
Here are the steps in the event you are affected:

Power off by pushing and holding the button for 20 seconds. Wait 2 minutes
Power on by pushing the button.
When promoted, select start up in safe mode with networking.
In safe mode, DP will not be operating and you can access the programs panel.
Turn off (you will not be able to uninstall yet) defender pro - all components
Shutdown-restart
When PC restarts you will be able to access programs panel and uninstall.

GOOD luck & hope it helps. It took me some hair pulling!
