Solved: Kaspersky Internet Security BIG Problem
Greetings,

I downloaded the trial version of Kaspersky Internet Security. I installed, updated. Now, I have no access to any of my files in Word or Excel, being told they are may have a virus or are corrupt. I uninstalled Kaspersky, with the intention of reinstallation. I still cannot open any office files (MS Office 2007).

Some history: We recently abandoned Norton Internet Security as we were displeased with the product and with the support staff. I uninstalled Norton before I installed Kaspersky. I do have Symantec Win Fax Pro, so maybe all of the Symantec anti virus was not removed (?)

Any advice/help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Max

I am marking this solved.

Here is what I did. . . I rolled back with system restore to before the Kaspersky nightmare. I uninstalled WinFax Pro (didn't really want to). I then used the Symantec removal tool. After that fiasco, I still could not open any Word or Excel files being told they were corrupt or may have a virus. While attempting to 'repair' MS Office 2007, I was told that it could not remove or repair as the installation was corrupt and unfixable because it could not find a valid office product installed. I then reinstalled MS Office 2003, rebooted, and uninstalled MS Office 2003. Then MS Office 2007 started functioning again as if it was it's first time. I did a scan disc, a defrag, then installed McAfee AV software and reinstalled WinFax Pro.

This has been a veritable nightmare. I wanted to post my solution just in case anyone had a problem similar to this.
