Running more than one anti-virus application at a time
Frequently, it's advised to NOT have more than one anti-virus application installed since they can or will conflict and cause some kinds of problems. I've actually experienced this myself once, a few years ago, when two A/V apps bumped into each other when scanning outbound e-mail.

So, what other problems can occur if you have more than one A/V app installed on the same system? Will their ability to detect and clean viruses/trojans/etc be negatively impacted? Will Windows stability be lessened? What kinds of things could go wrong?

Peace...

Interesting. Thanks for the link.

Right now, I've got AVG 8 and Avast! 4 installed on a box I use mainly for testing. I didn't intend to have multiple A/V products installed but wanted to give Avast! a try and so far the two of them haven't bumped into each other, at least not very much. AVG 8 seems to want to touch an Avast! ini file, for some reason, but other than that I haven't noticed any issues at all.

Peace...
