Question NAV 2008 and windows firewall, do they get along?
Is is fine to have the windows firewall turned on while running NAV 2008 on my Windows XP computer? Do these two programs work together or just cause more problems?

I want to be as secure as possible.

NAV has been a big headache for me lately. I understand that NAV has the worm protection. I think it is kind of a firewall, but just wanted some advice.

If I need to turn one off, which one do you recommend. Worm protection or Windows firewall.

I have around 190 days left on NAV subscription.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Good. Since you only have 190 days left on the subscription that gives you plenty of time to choose an alternative to NAV. One firewall will have conflict with another. Someone else will have to answer your question about which firewall to turn off.

Norton Antivirus is HORRIBLE but, it is runnable with Windows Firewall considering it is not a firewall itself.

I reccomend getting Zone Alarm Security Suite that comes with Kaspersky Antivirus which is one of the highest rating Antivirus programs.

OK to run Norton worm protection and Windows firewall.
It messes up firewall info in security center but should not conflict.
I personally use Zone Alarm free as firewall and turn off worm protection in my NAV2008.
