Norton Security 2006 renewal cost
I have been with Norton for a long time. This year when I went to renew, they wanted $50.00 for a renew. You can buy upgrades for less. I remember buying a renewal for less than $10.00. Then I thought I would go with 360 for $10.00 more, but all the reviews say it's a resource hog.

My computer is old, but I keep it updated. It's got a 2.6 processor, 1gig of ram and I'm running cable with XP, so right now I'm not bothered by Norton's resources too much. I don't want it to get any worse.

If I could get the renewal for less, I may go for it. It is much easier to do that than uninstall and upgrade and fine tune until everything runs smooth again.

What does everyone suggest? I know there are many programs out there. Many are free and do the same thing as Norton. I think Norton is getting out of hand. When gas got out of hand, I bought a small car that got good gas mileage. I will do the same with my anti-virus and firewall. I have been a loyal customer of Norton for many years. Paying that much just for a renew is a slap in the face. I guess maybe I'm just ready to move on.

Like I said any suggestions I will consider and I appreciate all feedback.

Norton is preety much a horrible problem

Here is what I reccomend,

1. You uninstall Norton all together

2. Download ATF cleaner to clean out your computer Click here

3. Install AVAST! Free Antivirus which in my opinon one of the best antivirus programs out there You can download it Here

or, You can subtitue it with a 6 month trial of the full version of AntiVir Antivirus which is one of the highest rated commercial Antivirus programs, You can get your trial fallowing the instructions Here

4. Download Comodo Firewall Pro, Which is one of the (if not) highest rating firewalls which provides maximum protection without using up too many system resources and being too complicated, Download Comodo Firewall Pro Here

If you are confused or need help, I can help you via remote assitance, I use TeamViewer which is a safe program, I am doing it for the experience as I want to worn with Anti Malware programs and Firewall when I'm older

Visit www.teamviewer.com if you are intrested and need help and than PM me
