My AVG 7.5 FREE is using about 3MB memory.
It has to be one of the lowest resource apps around.

I think you should use whatever you want or need.
Avg 8 incorporates antivirus and antispyware so it is going to use more memory
as it is a much bigger application. To be honest I haven't even tried avg 8.
I don't do suites right now. That may change in the future but for now I have separate
apps to do what I want/need and none hog my system for time/mem and I am very protected..
Good luck as one has many, many choices to pick and choose from.
(BTW, superantispyware is a good app. Paid ver is real-time and free is on-demand.
Everything I use, presently, consists of FREE only.)

Thats good. Do you run a firewall aswell? I reccomend Comodo Personal Firewall Pro, You can download it Here

SuperAntiSpyware is good for Antispyware
Avira is good for AntiVirus

but you definitly need a firewall

File Hippo has lots of versions of AVG 7.5 listed, so I assume at least one of them should work; http://www.filehippo.com/download_av...rus/tech/4029/

Personally, I use NOD 32, it's not free but it is light on resources.

I use Norton 360 ver. 1.0. Its relatively light and never gets in my way.

Even if it is using 50MB of RAM, that's not that much. The only lighter AV I can think of is NOD32.
