Hi I got this comp about 6 months ago and it came with Trend Micro PC-cilin Internet Security 14 (stiupid name I know lol) and I also downloaded a paid version of Norton AntiVirus. PC-cilin tends to come up with 2 or 3 tracking cookies on average than Norton. Is this normal? If some of ya could suggest something (preferably free cuz Im a scrub and cant afford anything else) Id be eternaly grateful

Trend Micro and Norton are preety much horrible programs and I really wouldnt consider you protected.

Here is what I reccomend,

1. You uninstall Trend Micro PC-cillin all together

2. You uninstall Norton all together

3. Download ATF cleaner to clean out your computer Click here

4. Install AVAST! Free Antivirus which in my opinon one of the best antivirus programs out there You can download it Here

or, You can subtitue it with a 6 month trial of the full version of AntiVir Antivirus which is one of the highest rated commercial Antivirus programs, You can get your trial fallowing the instructions Here

5. Download Comodo Firewall Pro, Which is one of the (if not) highest rating firewalls which provides maximum protection without using up too many system resources and being too complicated, Download Comodo Firewall Pro Here

Thanks for all yer suggestions but this is my dads comp and he is insanely paranoid about people stealing his credit info and what not even though I tell him that spyware takes care of that. Hes crazy sometimes I dont know what is deal is

Well, I think you should let me talk to your dad. I know alot about computer security.

Trend Micro and Norton arent going to protect you from Identity Theft.

Comodo monitors everything, If he uses Comodo and Avast/AntiVir he will have a protected computer.

You can direct him to this thread and I can try to convince him that these programs are award winning for protectionm.
