Cannot login into my laptop
I formatted and reinstalled windows and installed symantec endpoint software on my laptop. I connected to LAN but didn't open internet explorer. I just clicked live update on symentec and it updated. but few minutes later it detects many infections on my laptop. This is without even opening any webpage. symantec asked me to restart windows to remove all infections. Once I restart, I was never able to login. When I click my profile to login, it shows logging in but next second it says "saving your settings" and logs off. In infections page symantec showed w 32 virut b virus and some bot.
can just hooking to internet downloads virus? I searched microsoft website for virut but it shows nothing.

What version of Windows are we working with? Is this a legit operating system? With Service Pack 1 or Service Pack 2?
