Installing AVG 8
I am trying to install avg version 8 after removing the prior version. It seems stuck when trying to create the setup.cfg file. It has been hanging there for about 30 minutes already. Can someone help me? Right now I have no virus protection.

hi,,the very first thing i would try is stop download as in cancel, then download again,,,if that doesn't work then i would go into add & remove programs to make sure AVG was uninstalled & re-try downloading,,if that didn't work then i would right click on desktop & scroll down to explore & click on that & then look for any avg entries & delete them.

I did all of that. I couldn't uninstall. It got hung up trying to uninstall. I think I have to dig a little deeper here.

Sometimes the AVG site does suffer from this sort of problem, probably due to the fact it gets so many visitors, try again later,Im sure it will download eventually ...in the meantime if you want to try another highly rated ant-virus,this comes highly reccomended http://avast.virus-tools.com/?s=gouk&a=avast

Make sure you are downloading the proper version & not the server version
