desperate need of help
Ok my pc was fine until 3 days ago all of a sudden i cant get into my task manager and my windows auto updater has been disabled and i tried evrything to set it to automatic please help

You are infected. Run your AV and 2 oir 3 antimalware scans.

i ran my av i have avg it said i had 1 virus but what do i do with it and i had to have my hd reformatted afew months back and the guy said my win xp disk was no good anymore so i cant validate my windows now. so i should get one of the programs in the first list and both in the second or?

Is your Windows CD a copy? Don't use those as you don't know what backdoors and spyware hackers has slipped into the install. Crackers give away a lot of free stuff like keygens and cracked software, but you know what - its a fair trade because your PC gets owned.

no it was the origional but he said it was no good anymore and kept it

An original Windows XP CD never expires. Ask him to give you your CD back.
