Fingerprint recognition
Two adults, two grand kids. Lots of stuff I would rather the kids not see, but two adults use this computer. Does any of my learned friends use the new fingerprint recognition system of starting up the computer? Will the one gadget you put your finger on work for two people? Other than just going ahead and throwing the machine in the fishing hole how else could I be positive that no one else can start up the computer? What brand or system would you recomend for marginally computer literate senion citizens? Thanks, Grandma & Poppy

Are you referring to the Microsoft Fingerprint Reader ? See this page:

http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/mo...pe=Fingerprint

It can associate different fingerprints for different windows user accounts.

The install notes says that the product is for convinience only and is not a true security feature. They still recommend using strong (complex and long ) passwords. I have read somewhere that a fingerprint on a gummy bear can be used to fool it.
