Hi not a vista user but check.

Looking at your first post you also have Norton [Symantec] anti-virus program installed.
Having Avast and Norton installed may cause a slow down and possible conflict on your system.

Hi there!

For basic security needs for a laptop or PC it is common to have an anti virus program, a Firewall, and a spyware program to protect your system.

I would recommend the following programs that are free and Microsoft Windows Vista compatible. First, get a good firewall like Comodo or ZoneAlarm to help prevent any threats to your system. Second, have a good anti virus program running. And to help with protecting against spyware you should have Ad Aware, Spybot, and SpywareBlaster. All of these programs are free and easy to use.

Here are some links for you to access, learn more about, or download.

Firewall

or

Spyware

Have a good one.

A: Turn on Windows Firewall and Auto. Updates
B: You need an Ad - ware remover. I recommend Ad-Aware
C: Don't like Avast? I don't blame you .Try AVG or Avira. However, Avast is the only one of the three that scans all incoming traffic for free. As long as you scan your computer periodically, you should be fine.
