Zone Alarm wants permission to access...
ZA says that Java Platform SE binary is trying to access the internet. What is this and should I allow it?
Thanks.

If you install the Java or updated it then it may be asking for rights again on the program so yes you can say yes.

The problem with Java programs is that it is run as a parameter of java.exe (or jre.exe?) I don't remember if ZoneAlarm shows you the whole command line. If it doesn't, then you dont really know which program is seeking access to the internet.

I don't know if it showed the whole command line - I don't think so. But I gave it access anyway and hoped for the best.

Thanks to you both for responding.

Don't worry, that is a legal request.

Thanks - I have a new computer with XP after using 98 for years. On the advice of a tech a long time ago I never updated anything and never had a problem, never had a virus. Now I'm getting used to the things that need to be ok'd like Windows, AVG and Zone Alarm.

I agree with ZeBoss, you need not worry about that one at all imo.
