Question TightVNC ... a spyware???
I installed TightVNC to some computer of my LAN just to test it out. But when I search this thing on the net, it was included on spyware databases ...

http://www.spywaredb.com/remove-tightvnc/
http://www.exterminate-it.com/malpedia/remove-tightvnc
http://www.itconsultancy.org/spyware_TightVNC.htm
... etc. ...

I know it is a TOOL, but does it contain spyware?

I have been runing it on my linux box for awhile, and personally I have not noticed any spyware.
Could be labeled as that because it allows a user who knows the password to "spy" on you.

It's actually flagged as a RAT (Remote Administration Tool) or a PUP (Potentially Unwanted Program) but it is legit although such programs can be exploited for malicious purposes without your knowledge.
