I got the interest on this topic when I talked to one of our IT employees. This is the case.

We talked about a site that says you can only sign-up once for every PC, and they will terminate your account when they found out that you registered 2 or more accounts at the same PC.

And then I ask the IT guy about how true it is, of course I know they can trace my IP and surely will have my identity. But what if I'm at home and my ISP gives dynamic IP address, this means that I will have different IP addresses everytime I turn off my modem.

Well, the IT guy doesn't want to explain how can they obtain my identity if thats the case where I have dynamic IP.

Can somebody explain how they can get my identity with a dynamic IP?

And is running an antispyware which removes tracking cookies and "cleanup!" which also removes cookies and other unneccessary files not enough to hide my identity to other exploiting sites?

According to Steve Gibson's site, some ISP's attach an 'account identifier tag' to your IP address and that is never changed and so, theoretically, will identify you at every visit, whatever IP address it is linked with.

Check his 'Shields Up' and see if the IP address it finds has a five figure number after it. Mine does, and that number is the same each time I visit; https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2

Running one of the many IP checkers confirmed that the address 'Shields Up' gave is correct, but does not show my 'identifier'. If this worries you, you would obviously have to look for an ISP that doesn't use identifiers.

I do not have any knowledge of the technicalities involved here, so there may be many other ways in which our internet use is tracked.

Dynamic ip addresses may not be so dynamic. This is how a tech from a cable company explained it. When you boot up your modem, it goes and fetches a new ip. But since there a limited number of ip's in the pool and most people are logged on 24x7and thus holding on to their ip, you might end up getting the same ip as last time.

Even if your running an anti spy software a to remove your cookies or your doing this alone it`ll be not enough in order to hide your identity while surfing.
