Using 2 firewall at once--good or bad thing?
I'm running Zone Alarm as my firewall right now, and I like it. I've got the MS one disabled.

I'm considering upgrading my AVG Free 7.5 to their new AVG 8.0 Internet Security, which comes with its own firewall. If I do that, should I uninstall ZA and run the complete AVG or should I run both firewalls simultaneously? I think I've heard that's not so smart.

I haven't found out yet if I could disable the firewall part of the AVG 8.0 package, but perhaps that's also an option. If I could, would that make sense or not?

I think that falls into the same category as trying to run 2 anti-virus programs at the same time, a no-no.

AVG 8 also has a free version that comes without the firewall.

No.Don't ever have two firewalls running at the same time.It will seriously mess up your system.

And reviews of AVG Internet Security's firewall aren't very favourable....

Two firewalls may conflict, but the larger reason for not running two simultaneously is that there's really no benefit.
