Smile Solved: Avg 8
Hi, I already have McAfee security suite, and windows firewall, I am currently using AOL as my ISP, when I come to the sign on page it detects firewall, but not anti virus, would it be a good idea to download AVG 8, and would it be compatable with McAfee, many thanks.

Most antivirus have some form of active protection. If you have two doing the same thing, then they can step on each other.

Like Lunarlander says, it is not recommended to run 2 firewalls &/or anti virus programs at the same time. They WILL fight.

Yes, Windows firewall works on incoming only. McAffee works on both ways, which is better for your computer, and you should run only 1 firewall, and 1 antivirus program at a time. You can use multiple spyware detector/remover programs There is soo much of that stuff going around that it is hard for one company to catch them all.
