I have AVG 8.0 Free. When I open AVG user interface, update manager is not active after the computer is turned off for the night, even though automatic update was ticked, and a time scheduled for update

I have AVG 8.0 and it automatically updates (without telling me) every time I turn the computer on. Have you tried to update it manually? If you do and it tells you there is no update available, it is probably doing it automatically.
