Solved: can't remove norton and in need to scan my system for problems!!!
I have noticed my system been having weird problems believeing it could be related to virus, malware, spyware and i want to fix them by install eset easy security!!!

the biggest problem i'm facing right now is trying to remove my norton antivirus cooperate edition that i got from a friend which doesn't scan.

i tried removing it through add/remove programs but it freezes and restarts on its own everytime i do it.

i tried removing it manually through deleting the files related to it

i tried downloading the remove program but i can't open it says sth about zipfile and redownload

i tried searching on the web for solutions

none of those worked, i can't reinstall norton since i don't have the cd
what can i do now to remove norton???

and i'm hoping not to reformat my system again since i have a few programs that i can't get back!

pls giv me a hand on this!

The NRT doesn't work for the Corporate Editions so Symantec provide manual uninstallation instructions. See if your version is included here; http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT...nav.nsf&view=0 (I'm assuming you haven't already found and tried these!)

Print out the relevant instructions and then create a Restore Point before you do anything else, because you will be asked to edit your Registry. See this MS document about Registry backup and restoration; http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756 If I were doing this I would opt for the Manual steps but, if you want, you could try the 'Guided' method.

Whatever, be sure to read all the details at least twice. If you don't have an 'image' of your whole system, a screwed up Registry could leave you with a very expensive paperweight!

Edit: Just found a more modern version of the Symantec uninstaller list; http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT...02031914291648
