Hi Everyone,

Yesterday while using our computer (our being my brother's and mine), I was notified by my firewall (Comodo) that snmvtsvc.exe was trying to modify COM's. I blocked it, but it kept bugging me.

A little google research brings little info, except that it appears in many HiJackThis logs, although it doesn't seem to be the cause of any probs.

Its listed in O23 of the HijackThis Logs I've Read, But Upon Intiating My Own, It Wasn't Listed In Mine.

All I've Gleaned From Google Is That Its:

SoundMovieServer - C:\WINDOWS\system32\snmvtsvc.exe

I Can't Find Anything Stating Whether Its Legit Or Malware; Other Than Prevx, and I've Read They're Unreliable, So Here I Am.

I Run A Kaspersky Online Scan, And That Came Up Clean.

Can Anyone Shed Some Light On If This Is A Good/Bad Process?

I'm Stumped.

Yeah, that file is legit. From Prevx:

Thanks for your response. I read the PREVX page, and it sounded like it was malicious software. Especially since it first appeared in Brazil and has no vendor info? Does anyone know what program its associated with?
