Solved: Zone Alarm
Hi after a windows service update, could no longer connect to the internet. I found that if I shutdown Zone Alarm and use windows FW I connect ok. looking into to it a little found that reducing 'Internet Security Zone' to medium does solve it but is this setting safe it only recommended for temporary use can anyone advise please

I don't have a fix for your problem, but ZoneAlarm is aware of the problem with the windows update KB951748. You can either reset the security settings to Medium or un-install the update. If you want to uninstall the update, use Add/Remove Programs and be sure the box - Show Updates - is checked.

I reset the firewall settings to medium for now.

Thanks NanoWzrd I uninstalled the update for now feel more comfortable with security at its best. Good to know Zone Alarm are aware of it though.

I was about to post the same problem.

Is it best to uninstall this update or keep it on medium and wait for ZA to resolve the problem?

EDIT: Damnit! I uninstalled the windows update and for some reason I still have the same problem.

Hi J I personally uninstalled it it appears to be a script related update, I had no problems prior to update apart from not being able to connect had none since. Needed to tick not to remind me about the update in custom update settings though
