Firewall Alternative Suggestion?
Have an older relative with only an entry model 256MB, two year old PC running Windows XP. Looking for a basic firewall, free preferred, requiring less memory than the 128MB required by Zone Alarm which is slowing the machine, but something other than the firewall that comes bundled with the XP operating system. Person does email and basic web browsing, with no online banking, credit card transactions, or personal details stored online. Suggestions?

P.S. They have anti-virus and anti-spyware software on the machine, believe AVG, but not certain.

You really need to add some RAM to that machine to bring it to at least 500.

I would suggest Comodo. As you can see, the download is very light and I don't think it takes as much resources as ZoneAlarm.

I would go with 3.0 though to be sure to have the latest and greatest.

It only requires 64mb on the machine for installation.
