Solved: comodo firewall question
I am looking into installing Comodo firewall on my XP.
I have been reading up and Now I am asking for a suggestion. I am a beginner and I notice there are 2 different downloads. One firewall with defense that sounds like for experts. then the plain firewall, with leak protection.

On my XP, SP2, 1 GB ram, I am running norton antivirus 2008 and microsoft firewall at the present. I understand that I will need to turn off worm protection on NAV 2008 and turn off the microsoft firewall too. Before I install Comodo. Is this correct.?

There is only one program but, when the installer runs, you are given the option whether or not to have the Defense+ feature enabled. The feature can be enabled/disabled later if the user has a change of mind.

Defense+ causes a lot of informative popups which seem to worry some users and, like the firewall iself, it has various settings available to adjust the level of protection. I'm still getting to grips with all the features of the Comodo firewall, but I haven't had serious problems with it. Detailed study of the Help files is essential (at least it is for me!)

Although I can't now remember where I saw it, I did once read that, without the Defense+ component enabled, Comodo was only an 'average' firewall.

Thanks for the information. After looking all the information about Comodo, I decided I wasn't up to setting all the rules. So I turned off my windows firewall, turned off worm protection on NAV 2008 and downloaded the latest ZoneAlarm and installed it. So far so good.
I feel better getting a firewall that protects incoming and outgoing activity in my computer.
I will mark this solved!
Thanks Tech Guys! You're the best!
