Exclamation peerguardian
hey,
i have a question regarding the program peerguardian 2. does it simply monitor the incoming and outgoing connections on my computer and block the ones on the blacklist? i just installed it and have it open currently, and noticed the large amounts of incoming and outgoing connections even when i'm sitting here, "idling", and not trying to access any website.
should i be worried about these connections?
thanks!

"PeerGuardian 2
PeerGuardian 2 is Phoenix Labs’ premier IP blocker for Windows. PeerGuardian 2 integrates support for multiple lists, list editing, automatic updates, and blocking all of IPv4 (TCP, UDP, ICMP, etc), making it the safest and easiest way to protect your privacy on P2P"

I don't think you can get help with P2P at TSG. This from TSG rules:
"P2P Instructions - We do not support P2P file sharing applications and any threads requesting help for such will be closed. This includes Kazaa, Bearshare, WinMX, and the like. If you're interested in the topic, you are free to discuss it on our site (and please visit StealingIsIllegal.com), but information on how to use them will not be provided.

From the TSG Rules, which you should have read when you joined.

We have reviewed the post, and since this application does indeed have other uses, we have reopened the thread.

i believe there was a misunderstanding. peerguardian is an ip blocker/traffic monitor -- ip blocker similar to spywareblaster, and traffic monitor similar to any firewall, which shows and logs any incoming/outgoing connections from the computer.

any help is appreciated!

I use it on my PC to help stop some of the ad's and malware...
I had about 10 sites open researching some malware crap just a few days ago for my Bootcamp HJT training and I got an attempted hit from;
AtrivoHell.CWS.BS.Hijackers/Malware Network
I am very glad I had it installed my firewall -Comodo didn't catch it Grrrr...
