Streaming Videos
I have a question and I'm not sure you can help me. All the pc's in the house seem to have the same problem. We have DSL so I'm assuming this isn't anything to do with the connection speed. But while we watch a streaming video (on Youtube) the video takes forever to play and is very choppy, cutting in and out. This just started to happen a few weeks ago. Video's that used to load with ease now take probably 3-6mins to fully load.Do you know what would cause this????

I read a similar forum. However, it was suggested a pc scan be done. I ran Norton Antivirus and AVG.

Download and Run ATF Cleaner
Download ATF (Atribune Temp File) Cleaner© by Atribune to your desktop.

Double-click ATF Cleaner.exe to open it.

Under Main choose:
Windows Temp
Current User Temp
All Users Temp
Cookies
Temporary Internet Files
Prefetch
Java Cache

*The other boxes are optional*
Then click the Empty Selected button.

Firefox:
Click Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click NO at the prompt.

Opera:
Click Opera at the top and choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click NO at the prompt.

Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Did that help?

I appreciate all your help and detailed instructions. As much as I would like to say it helped, it didn't.

I am beginning to wonder if it is the DSL. Those are the results I got for my Connection Speed Test. I'm not sure if those numbers mean anything to you.
Once again, thanks for your help.

Last Result:
Download Speed: 219 kbps (27.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 268 kbps (33.5 KB/sec transfer rate)

27.4KB/sec is slower than Dial-up. You need to contact your ISP.

The first thing I'd do is check the network cables, then contact the ISP. And see if Task Manager has any new, unknown to you, processes.
MikeSwim, the fastest dial-up is 56 Kb/s (7 KB/s). Notice the Kb (kilobit) vs KB (kilobyte); 1 Byte = 8 bits.
You may know this, but a lot of people use these interchangeably!
