changing Norton block/allow settings
I'm using Norton Personal Firewall which came with my Windows XP sp2. When I use any new program that uses the internet, I see a pop up box from Norton "warning" me that the program is trying to access the internet. I have the option of choosing "Always allow" "always block" or "manually configure." For nearly ever application, since I know what they're trying to do, I pick "always allow."

Recently, though, I was trying to play a game I had downloaded and I accidentally picked "always block." Now I can't play the game. How can I change the way Norton handles this program? I opened that Norton Firewall setting screen, but I just can't find a place to change the rules about a specific program.

Thank you.

Look under settings and then look under Firewall Protection Settings. Do the pop-ups ever annoy you?

Anyways, lets wait for our in-house Norton expert, Michael York. Heh.

Hi Trackerway,

This is Mike from the Norton Authorized Support Team.

Please let me know which Norton product and version you are using so that I can provide you with the steps to properly configure the Norton Personal Firewall.

Thanks,
Mike
