Question about working remotely
I currently work for a company remotely. I have a work computer provided by them hooked up to a VPN router, so I can have secure access to their files.
I also have my own three home computers hooked up to this vpn router and obviously surf the internet on those three computers. I rarely use the work computer to access the internet.
My question is can my employer log my internet activity from all of my computers?. I don't mind them logging the work computer but our families home computers should be private. Basically as I surf on my home computer can they log the websites I visited through the vpn router. Thanks in advance for your help.

Do you log into the VPN only from the work computer?

Is the router set up as part of your internet connections?

The vpn automatically logs in my work computer, there is a tunnel created so that I don't have to log in.
I can't access my home computers on the network unless I grant permission in zone alarm.
The router is set up as part of my internet connection. There is a connection from the dsl box to the vpn router.

Alright so your work has given you the VPN router then.

I don't think they should be seeing any information passed across your internet on your home PCs unless they log into the VPN. Can the home PC access anything on your works network?

I could be wrong, but I would imagine that. If you are paranoid you could probably buy another router, hook that up to your DSL box port (unless it already has like 4 ports) and then connect the work PC to the VPN router to the "home router" which has the other PCs connected to it.

I checked under the DHCP settings of the router, not that I understand what that means but it shows my other computers.
If I want to access my home computer from the work computer I have to add the work computers ip to zone alarm. Then I can access files on my home computer from the work computer.
I can't access anything on the works network from my home computers. I am sure I used to be able to do that but not now.
Thanks so much for your advice so far.

Unfortunately I am not to sure what set up is going on here.

None the less I feel that is the home PCs can not connect to work, then work can not connect to them.

Thanks for all of your help, fingers crossed they can't connect. I would rather keep private life separate from work.

I agree 100%, but it is kind of a two way street when it comes to networking.

If you can't reach, then they shouldn't be able to either.

The main thing I was worried about is whether the VPN router logs websites or if there is some sort of software on the employers side that can gather info from the vpn router. I really have less than basic knowledge of this sort of thing. Thanks again.
