Couple Questions
Hey everyone! I have a couple of questions.

1) My Trend Micro AV is out of date, and no longer of use to me. Should I just uninstall it via Add/Remove Programs, and is it safe to delete all the quarantined files with it? I have hundreds (yes...) of quarantined files.

2) Which free program should I install in its place? I have tried AVG on another computer but I don't really care for it (the automatic updates really annoy me, unless there is a way to turn it off). I've heard Avast is good, but people prefer Avira over it, and in all honesty I've never even heard of Avira before. So what program should I use?

Thank you.

Remove Trend Micro and then do a search for any remaining files or folders. If you have items in quarantine and you have not experienced any problems with you computer, it is safe to remove them when you remove the program. If you are unsure, wait for a week to see if there are any operating problems before you do the remove.

I use Avast and am happy with it. It updates automatically two or three times a day. You might look at other threads in this forum (there are many) to read the opinions of others about Avira and Avast. You will find differing opinions. You may wish to try each to determine which one you prefer.
