Question Sloooooow response times.
My computer response times have become so slow, I keep a book beside the keyboard to read while waiting for a program or file to load.

In an excess of caution, in addition to Norton Internet Security, I've been running SpySweeper and Sana Primary Response Safe Connect. I also run my browser and email client through DropMyRights.

Whenever I use Process Explorer to try to see what's holding things up, I always see these programs using most of the CPU and Disc time.

So, I screwed up my courage and disabled SpySweeper and Sana (and Carbonite backup, which also seems to be running all the time).

The computer is like it's New, it's running so fast.

Now the question - Does anyone feel I'm putting myself seriously at risk, using only Norton Internet Security and DropMyRights?

DropMyRights is a Firewall?
Does your Norton include a Firewall?
Haven't heard of Sana Primary Response Safe Connect
You can always run other Spyware programs say once a week to double check Norton.

Yes, the Norton Internet Security has a fire wall, all my ports are stealthed, etc.

I should think I'd be reasonably safe, but all the ads for security products are designed to make you feel vulnerable.

Hi having two firewalls installed..Norton and DropMyRights will at some time cause a conflict with each other.
Just use one.
Your Spysweeper and maybe Superantispyware run once a week should be enough.

Hi Blues_harp, dropmyrights is a microsoft program that lets people run programs as a limited user, if the user is signed on as admin.
