Solved: PC getting hanged while connecting to internet.
Hi all.
i am having a trouble regarding pc hanging. i am having XP and had installed Mcafee security but aftr installing it i got trouble using exe files due to infection of hidrag.a.
Then i uninstalled the Mcafee and installed a fresh copy of XP (formatting C drive only). After new installation i connected to the internet thru DSL modem and BSNL broadband connection. But as soon as i connect to internet, my pc gets hanged and i m supposed to reboot. I have tried scanning it but still facing the same prob. While the net is not connected the pc works fine and without any probs but as soon as i connect the net the pc hangs. Pl help....

Do you have a router? If not, then get one as a router hides your pc from direct attacks. There are automated hacking tools that invade unpatched pcs as they come online.

The first thing you must do after being connected online is to do Windows Update.

Since your PC is a new install, there's not much to lose by doing a repair install. Try that and see if it fixes your problem.
