Solved: E-mail/virus problem?
Operating system Xp home--outlook express

I have received e-mails from one friend on his company system and this problem has occured twice in the last few months. He forwards an e-mail he has received and it copies and repeats sending of up to 100+ times. It happens with multiple e-mails when the problem occurs This happened again yesterday, and I have now blocked his ability to send me e-mail and have asked him to take me off his e-mail list. My computer seems to be running normally now. Is it possible that my system has been compromized or affected by something I haven't detected?

His corporate tech people cannot locate a problem but this problem occurs with other of his recipiants at the same time it has happened to me.

Any ideas or reasoning ou there? Thanks, Tom

It looks like it's a problem at his end if it is happening to other in his sending list.

Just to be sure, what antivirus and firewall programs do you have installed??

If you think you have a virus, try either of these online scans:
http://www.eset.com/onlinescan/ - ESET/Nod32 Online Scan or
http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner - Kaspersky Online Scan

The Nod32 scan will remove any of the viruses/malware found but Kaspersky won't, so if you want to use K, post the log here.
