I am having a problem accessing a laptop. A friend of mine has given me a laptop to get past the password protection but they want to keep the information on the computer so they can view it. So formatting is like the last resort. lt would seem that someone has gone into the bios and created a password. There is no request for a username/login, just the password. If you hit f2 it doesnt let you go past the password login screen. If you hit f12 it doesnt let you go past the password login screen. F8 is not an option. I cannot access safe mode. There is a black screen with a blue bar for the password-the only time this changes is when I hit f2 to enter setup. Then it displays the light blue border (bios) It says PhoenixBIOS Setup Utility at the top of the screen. And Enter (Accepts) and Esc(Exit) at the bottom. But I still cant go anywhere from here. Ctrl, Alt, Delete just restarts the computer. It is a Toshiba with Windows Vista Basic. Intel celeron inside. I cant tell much more than that because I cant access the computer. Thanks in advance.

Im pretty certain it is the policy of this site not to give any information on the subject of getting past passwords ...this is because its impossible to determine whether the request is a genuine one or not ..though your request may very well be a sincere one, there are plenty that have not been ...so the site owner decrees that no help can be offered on the subject ....
