Question Solved: Port Scan
Norton Security has twice blocked this this from entering my computer, 69.72.76.3,53.
Can anyone tell me how to find out where this is coming from and can I stop it?

Heya, Chuck!

I did a few searches and didn't manage to find any information on it other than an interesting spyware article at CastleCops which I now can't load up..

Do you have a firewall and router?

There is nothing you can do to stop it. Port scans occur by the 1000's all the time. People are looking for places to attack, research projects scan for data, ISP's scan for customer connection and usage. That's what we have firewalls for. Being connected to the net means being connected to 100's of other places at the same time. We all just hope we can trust most of them. You are probably connected to 50 or so places right now. Try Current Ports and enable all the connection views to see who is connected to you right now.

That particular domain is in Annapolis, MD. Maybe the military or NSA.

Could you not blacklist it using a router, Elvandil?

But yes, make sure you have a good firewall running, Chuck.

Yes, but there will be 100's of others. It won't accomplish anything. Just use a good firewall and that will limit access. But whenever you open a door to go out, you also make a place for someone to come in.

Hi Ryoushi,
Yes Norton has a firewall with it and blocks everything. I was wondering who it was.
Thanks for your reply,
chuck.
