Hello everybody. I keep getting Windows security alerts telling me that my Virus Protection is out of date. I was using the latest version of Avast so i uninstalled that and installed AVG free but i'm still having the same problem. Does anybody know what i could do or what could be causing this? Thank you

You probably have Antivirus 2008 infection. I would download and install www.superantispyware.com and update it and do a complete system scan with it.

Ok i went ahead and did that and it found 30 virus threats. It quarantined them and had me reboot my computer. The problem is still there. My computer says my anti virus is out of date. Whate else can i do? Please let me know. Thanks

Looks like Antivirus XP 2008.

Go here and download 'Hijack This!' self installer. Save it to the desktop or other suitable place. DO NOT just press run from the website Double click on the file and it will install to C:\program files\hijackthis and create an entry in the start menu.
Click on the entry in start menu to run HijackThis
Click the "Scan" button, when the scan is finished the scan button will become "Save Log" click that and save the log.
Go to where you saved the log and click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" then Paste the log back here in a reply.
It will possibly show issues deserving our attention, but most of what it lists will be harmless or even required, so do NOT fix anything yet.

Post your log along with a description of what is wrong in the appropriate place (Security and HiJackThis logs)

You will need to run the scan again a few more times until you are completely clean, one will not do it.

Ok I ran the scan with Super Anti Virus again a couple more times untill the scan came clean. My windows security is still telling me that my virus protection is out of date. My AVG says that the databases for my Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware are outdated. Here is my hijack this log:

Out of curiosity, double click the time in the tray and see if the year date and month is correct as Avg is sensitive to that and won't update if that is wrong.

OH! Thank you so much. The date on my computer was set to Sep 20th 2008. That's why it must have thought it was outdated. Well i'm relieved it wasn't serious, thank you for the help.
