Dual booting XP with XP - question
Hi there.

If I dual boot XP with XP and one of them is used for checking viruses/opening viruses, will the other XP be able to be infected? Is there anyway the virus can spread from one partition to the other? Would it be like two totally separate computers?

Thanks.

Xlore.

The clean OS will be infected if you open the file in the same OS. Otherwise, it shouldn't be infected.

What I mean is, there are two Windows XP installations on two partitions. The first installation will be clean and will be used for checking emails, etc. The other will be used for opening/checking viruses. If I open a virus on the installation that I'll be using to check viruses on, there's no way it can infect the other, clean, XP? They'll be like two seperate computers?

I either explained it badly or I didn't understand your answer.

Oh, I'm pretty sure it shouldn't, but I'm not sure.
