Internet Explorer won't open, maybe spyware/virus?
IE is displaying the error message "http:/// The address is not valid". I shut down my computer two days ago and it worked before I shut it down. I had been downloading some things for The Sims 2 but I used NOD32 to scan all of those files and it came up with no threats. I did an in-depth analysis as well with NOD32, nothing there. I know that everything is fine with the network, seeing as the other computers connected to my network can connect to it fine. It's not the ethernet cord because I'm using it on this laptop as we speak.

I'm running on an ASUS G1SNA1, which uses Vista Home Premium ( I hate vista, bleh).

Whenever I open up IE and input an address, it brings up the error message, then when I close IE, every time it says "Internet Explorer has stopped working . . . ", then it looks for the solution and I select close program.

I have gone into IE and reset everything through the internet options->advanced options->reset.

I have just installed Ad-Aware 2007 Pro and I am doing a full scan right now.

Any thoughts as to what may be going wrong? I really don't want to have to reformat.
