I have a virus - can anyone help me?
AVG keeps blocking this but it is now getting on my nerves.
Trojan horse BHO.O - C:\WINDDOWS\system32\compstu.dl

Can anyone advie me how to remove it?

You could try running an online scan here; http://www.eset.eu/online-scanner (make sure you read the Terms of Use before proceeding).

If the Eset scanner doesn't find the malware it may be an AVG false positive, if it finds it but can't 'fix' it, have a look at the 30 day trial of Trojan Remover; http://www.simplysup.com/tremover/details.html Note that Trojan Remover defends itself against malware by generating random filenames for many of its processes. This can be interpreted as suspicious behaviour by other security programs.

See if you can upload the file to the Jotti virus scan service to see if it's a viral infection. If you're running AVG 8, it also scans for spyware so try another spyware scanner to see if it detects anything.

If nothing else detects a threat in that file, it might be a false positive.

Which version of AVG are you running?
