Is COMODO Firewall Pro as good as it seems?
I have found it brilliant though a little annoying during it's learning process but can live with that.

I am more interested in it's anti virus and malware protection.

Has anybody had any experience with it letting some of these bad guys into the system?

Always suspicious of applications that are FREE and appear to work so well!

I've been using it since it first became available and haven't had any problems (even with Defense+ enabled), but I'm not a 'typical' user in that I don't do the 'social' sites (too old!) or file sharing (I'm on dialup) and I don't use Internet Explorer.

I'm aware that the Comodo Firewall wants to run a scan during installation (at least the latest versions do) but I never considered it to be an antivirus. I use NOD32 and Comodo Anti Malware (formerly BO Clean) for 'real time' protection, with SpywareBlaster and Spybot as useful extras.

Agree with TOGG. Even in the Comodo forums it;'s not recommended by those who seem most knowledgeable to use their AV on a production machine at this time. And the one with the firewall is only an on demand scanner. However, as a firewall, it ranks very high.
