laptop
hi we have a laptop which is xp, i know we have to have anti virus software, so which ones would you reccommend at the moment we have none. I know that some crash, so i dont want to put just any on so what adware and spyware, and anymore do I need, Thanks for your help

try out Avira, it's the best free antivirus software, also u can install avast home edition, use any ONE of these, and if are using Avira, then u need an antispyware, Ad-Aware orbSpyBot S&D will do..

Hi you need one Anti-virus program always running in the background
But you can use more than one Spyware program as long as they are not what's called Realtime programs [usually paid for programs] that also run in the background protecting your system.

These two programs are free versions and hence are not Realtime programs.
You update them say once a week and then scan your system with them.

We all here no doubt use different Anti-virus programs.
Our decisions are based on what we feel works best for us on our individual systems.
Or over a period of time we may try many of them.

The above Spyware programs will work with most if not all Anti-virus programs.

Have a read of the recomendations at this site Tech Support Alert. The reviews are independent (no ads) and give suggestions that guide beginners, experts etc. It's really easy to choose what'll suit you from here:

All progs listed are free and clear of ads etc.
