Solved: Problem with Spybot Search & destroy-HELP PL.
My O/S is windows XP home and I have Spybot search & Destroy on my machine.On 5th sept'08 I updated this programe and since then my excel files (.xls) have stopped responding.

Pl. suggest solution for my problem. Thanks

devagral try uninstalling spybot first.
Reboot and see if the problem persists OK

Thanks, speed_hog.Do you mean that I should uninstall it and then reinstall it by downloading it again?For the time being, I have restored back to a point prior to updation and Excel files started responding.Then I again updated spybot search and destroy and again Exel files stopped responding and I had to restore back again.So surely spybot is the culprit.

Thanks for doing that test and letting everyone know about the problem.
I use spybot and don't have excel installed so I don't have your problem.
***blues_harp28 is a friend and very good at tech support also a
distinguished member with 7,710 posts.
and he highly recommends Superantispyware,

What is your version of Excel? I use 2000 and have no problem with an interaction with Spybot.
