0X0000008E problem
Hi, don't know if this is the right place to post this but I resently got a problem of one of my computers.

It starts up all right but after 3 min or so it shuts down.

The error log says something about
0x0000008E
0xC0000005
0xDA159B0
0xA9A54808
0x00000000

Any idea of what this might be or how to solve it.

Know this is not much to go on but thank you in advance.

Did you have sp2 installed before you installed sp3. There was an original fix for this problem in sp2 but I'm not sure of what, if anything, could go haywire if you installed sp2 at this juncture.
I don't want to suggest something that could/would complicates matters

I had SP2 when the problem started.
In the link you gave me it said
Quote:
To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows XP. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
322389 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322389/) How to obtain the latest Windows XP service pack
went to (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322389/) and it said something about using windows update or if it did not work down load it manualy (and there was a link to SP3). So I downloaded it.
