 | Junior Member with 4 posts. | | | | I'm Lost!... I am currently running Norton 360, and also run Spybot and Ad-Aware a few times per week. I update all 3 regularly. For the most part, the issues I've had were normal spyware issues, that were easily corrected. Recently, however, Ad-Aware found a virus/viruses that Norton didn't. I am now receiving all types of error messages, which, when I google them, sometimes return no results. Firefox and trillian seem to be crasing at times, too. I now find myself running each program a few times per day to attempt to keep everything clean, as each time I run spybot, it's showing anywhere between 6 and 30 issues. Ad-Aware has shown 2 critical objects, and Norton always tells me I'm clean, no matter which order I run it in. I also downloaded avast, which I do not use in real time mode. It has given me a few different messages, none of which I understand.
Now, as you can probably tell, I am pretty pc illiterate, but I do read up on issues, and follow instructions as best as I can in order to keep my pc running well and virus free. I tried to copy the log file from Ad-aware to post, but am unable. I haven't seen the log file option on the other programs. Now, please excuse my ignorance, and I apologize if this isn't the correct forum, but what can I do to improve my security, and what, if anything, can I do about these issues?
This is a synapsis of what I am receiving, and again, sorry for being long-winded:
c:\windows\system32\knamv15m.exe
Win32.Trojan.Crypt
Win32:Trojano-1481 [Trj]
c:\windows\sp_1.exe
c:\programfiles\support.com\twc\html agent\inc\chtr_dectree.js
JS:Feebs family
Also received a message stating there was an error in dumprep.dll
As I've said, I never have had any serious issues. My pc is 3 yrs. old, I'm running WindowsXP, and it's performed very well all this time.
Any advice or instructions are greatly appreciated, and I apologize for not being able to be more precise. | | Senior Member with 139 posts. | | Join Date: Aug 2007 Location: Pottstown, PA Experience: Intermediate | | Hello bmacaveli.......I have Edited your Reply-

There's a "Stickied" thread up at the top, I will link it here for you.... http://forums.techguy.org/malware-re...st-before.html
follow what it says there, to describe briefly the situation as you did here, post a Hijackthis log and as soon as possible someone will more than likely stop in to check the log. We are a bit backlogged with a heavy demand for help with malware these days but we will do the best possible to assist you.
I will not close this thread just yet, but either I or another Mod will most likely as soon as you do start a new thread. It would be nice if you posted here first....and told us that you are starting a new thread in Malware Removal with a Hijackthis log, etc. That's the way we work here- so long and have a nice day. | | Junior Member with 4 posts. | | | | Thank you... bmacaveli, thanks for trying to help, though i didn't get to see your reply.
