Solved: possible keyboard problem or an infection in i.e. ???
sometimes in i.e. the "////" key will take over the open typing window, like this one or the search bar , etc. it'll just take off, few at a time and quit or hundreds on end,, sometimes while typing, sometimes just while your not touching any keys. real pain in the butt to type in anything. i dont know really when it started, seems its was just a little annoying at first about a month ago, now very annoying.

also you hear the "doink" sound sometimes when clicking things in explorer, one or a bunch, not very often and doesnt seem to be with the "//" problem. ive heard that sound a few times when nothing on the desktop was open.

snoopfree sometimes catches "keyboard hook in i. e. frame.dll" or something like that. may be related, dont know.

also webroot said something few weeks ago about " your browser has been hijacked do you want to reset defaults?" i did and everything seemed ok then. ive recently removed webroot spysweeper and trend micro anti-virus and now have trend micro internet security pro so i dont have the logs from webroot.

any advice as what to look for or do is appreciated.

p.s., by the time i finally got thru this post i thought it had quit, then out of the blue it took off again.

Hi there.

Looks like a hijack issue to me, I wouldn't expect something to do this by itself.

Go to the "Malware Removal & HIjackThis Logs" forum and post a HijackThis log after reading the stickied threads in that category, an expert will then get to you when possible.

Good luck!
