Removing Symantec Liveupdate from control panel?
I decided to recently remove Symantec Corporate Antivirus 10 from my machine at work, and replace it iwth Kaspersky Business security. I can't tell you what a great decision that was, Kaspersky is LIGHT YEARS better than Symantec.

BUT I have a problem: I used the "add/remove programs" applet in the control panel to remove both Symantec antivirus itself AND Liveupdate. Except Liveupdate didn't remove - it's still clearly installed in my control panel, and still works - but theres no entry in the add/remove programs anymore.

So now - I've got Kaspersky installed, and Symantec Liveupdate is still there, even though I ran the uninstaller, and now theres no uninstall entry.

How do I get this garbage symantec software off my machine? I'm beginning to think it's a virus itself.

I found that page earlier - but I didn't run any of them because they all refer to Norton products, not the corporate edition of Symantec, which is what I have (had) installed. My version is Symantec Corporate 10, not Norton 200x.

Now I don't know how different Symantec makes their products, but Norton is typically consumer based, and Symantec is corporate, is that correct? that's what I thought anyway.

Would any of those tools work with my edition?

There was a utility around called NoNav from Symantec, but it is no longer available on their site.
The utility is supposedly been replaced with one called CleanWipe and this thread shows how to acquire it.
