I then looked up a review for this product on Google and found that there hadn't been an update of it since 2004. Is there a newer version of Spyware Guard or should it be considered obsolete? | | Senior Member with 1,813 posts. | | Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: UK | | | | | Distinguished Member with 3,530 posts. | | Join Date: Jan 2004 Experience: Beginner | | Thanks for the information, Kitch. Maybe I should have asked if anyone here uses it. | | Distinguished Member with 54,745 posts. | | Join Date: Oct 2001 Location: *Random People Pleaser***Sacra Experience: Having fun | | I used it but stopped using it after I got WinPatrol. | | Distinguished Member with 3,730 posts. | | Join Date: May 2004 Experience: Intermediate | | | | | Distinguished Member with 54,745 posts. | | Join Date: Oct 2001 Location: *Random People Pleaser***Sacra Experience: Having fun | | Not sure if Spyware Blaster can replace Spyware Guard.
Remember they are both from javacoolsoftware so if Spyware Blaster can do what Spyware Guard does then why would they still have Spyware Guard? | | Distinguished Member with 3,530 posts. | | Join Date: Jan 2004 Experience: Beginner | | Thanks for the responses, Hewee and Golferbob. I have WinPatrol myself. I still use WINME and I have SuperAntiSpyWare as my main anti spyware program. I have been considering using Spyware Blaster (not Spyware Guard) as a backup. | | Distinguished Member with 8,354 posts. | | Join Date: Jan 2005 Location: London England | | I used to run 98se on another system, mainly to check out new registry cleaners and to see how soon they would bring the system to a standstill.
[ get a life I hear you saying]
On there was SpywareBlaster, SpywareGuard and Winpatrol.
It was only SpywareGuard that would alert me of a Homepage change.
Usually when d/loading a new, different Firewall etc.
But on my Xp there is only SpywareBlaster and Winpatrol.
Not sure if this help or adds to the confusion. | | Distinguished Member with 3,530 posts. | | Join Date: Jan 2004 Experience: Beginner | | It does help, Blues Harp. Its getting hard to find compatible programs for WINME because of its age. I'm glad that you had good results with SpywareGuard. But I just don't feel comfortable using something that hasn't been updated in four years. | THIS THREAD HAS EXPIRED.
