Hi

I have a folder in my program files which I don't know what its for... Its CA/PPRT and contains 2 other folders 'bin' and 'logs'

Please can anyone shed any light on this and tell me how to remove it if its malware/spyware?

TIA

Hi,

Most likely not ad or spyware.....here's a Hijackthis entry where is shows as part of Webroot software, from Pest Patrol program

O23 - Service: CA Pest Patrol Realtime Protection Service (ITMRTSVC) - CA, Inc. - C:\Program Files\CA\PPRT\bin\ITMRTSVC.exe

Don't just dump the folder unless you are sure the program has been completely UNinstalled... ask any questions if you are not sure.

Since you don't have the .exe component file in there, most likely just the leftover logs etc are in that location in Program Files....lots of software uninstallers leave some pretty much "empty" folders...

Thanks!

Although I don't think I've ever had Pest Patrol installed? Could it be part of the PC Guard Software provided by Virgin Media?

I have tried removing the folder but it wont allow it.
