I am sorry - have no idea how to help. But I sincerely suggest to post your question in the Firefox forum: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewforum.php?f=38

I am sure they will help you.

Best of luck to you. I know it's very frustrating.

Also, you may want to bookmark this website for tech. help: www.plumchoice.com. It's not free computer help, but you may want to turn to it when you are stuck and desperate. We use it occasionally.

What email client are you using to open your email? Firefox is a web browser...

Are you using Thunderbird?

Firefox does not have email so if your using it then your talking about web base email like hotmail, gmail, yahoo I guess.
What are you getting the email alerts from.
What email site or program if it is not web base?
Has it ever worked?

Could be you need to turn on the JavaScript to get the web site to work or it is on but your firewall or anti malware or virus is blocking the JavaScript.
