Program Files\WindowsNT\TableTextService is corrupt and unreadable
I am getting a message "LogonUI.exe - Program Files\WindowsNT\TableTextService is corrupt and unreadable. Please run Chkdsk utility.

I attempeted to run Chkdsk but got a message saying I would have to schedule it for next start up. I did and it didn't start.

I went into the command prompt as admistrator and tried entering
sfc/scannow, and c: /r. Nothing has changed, I tried to do a system restore, but got a message saying that it can't be done because of corrupted files.

I am running a Vista Home Premium on a HP Pavilion dv6000, 1.73Ghz Intel Centrino Duo, 2GB Ram

I would appreciate any help.

Symantec Norton System Works has a Disk Doctor component. It checks and repairs hard drives.

I have System Mechanic which checks and fixes hard drives and if when I try to repair the disc, I get a blue screen and the computer locks up.

I can still use the computer, as I am now, but I can't reinstall my antivrus, which I uninstalled because because it stopped automatically running checks which it was scheduled to do daily. I guess the corrupted file has screwed with my antivirus software, and I can't do a system restore. I have Computrace Lojack for Laptops installed on my computer, and I got a email from them telling me my computer hasn't called their server in over 30 days, so that is another problem the corrupted file is causing.

I have posted this issue on different forums and I am getting no replies.

I really do not want to have to restore my computer to factory default.

I have the same problem
I have the same problem. It appears to have lost all of my user information. I cannot log on by fingerprint scanner or password. I cannot get it to run skndsk. It won't let me do a system restore without first running skndsk. There is another (now expired) thread in this site describing my problem, but it died without an adequate solution. (The thread is called "LogonUI.exe g2ahost.exe and a few others corrupt" by Netsy19 dated 19-Apr-2008. I have also been looking on many other sites and forums. It seems to be a common problem, but I haven't seen a solution that worked.

I got chkdsk to run!
I spent hours trying different ways to get chkdsk to run with no success. I kept getting "chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use..." followed by the option to schedule it to run at next restart. Of course, it would never run at the next restart.

Then, I opened System Recovery by pressing F12 during restart. I went to Advanced Options in the first screen. The menu gave 4 choices. I chose the first option (system checks). By this approach, when it said "chkdsk cannot not run..." it asked if I would like to "force a dismount on this volume" instead of the frustrating and ineffective option to schedule it at reboot. I've got it running now. It says it's recovering a bunch of orphaned files, including the "TableTextService" of the error report I'm keeping my fingers crossed...

I didn't have to do system recovery to factory settings
After I ran Chkdsk by forcing a dismount of drive C (approach described in previous posting), the error messages went away. However, the system still couldn't remember my user identity and wouldn't let me log in. I rebooted into safe mode and was able to run a system restore to 2 days earlier. That fixed it back to normal.
