I cannot update various spyware/ malware/ AVG
Alright, my wife accidently downloaded what she thought was a good program but to our demise, it turned out to be xp_antivirus 2009. now i got most of this all off the computer, it still wont allow me to update my AVG, Ad-aware, CCleaner, Spybot S&D, or my spyhunter programs... they all say that they cannot connect to the internet... check my connection.. well guess what.. im writing this message on your forums so i must be able to connect to the internet.. please help or i am going to pull my hair out!

im having to do this on my wifes lap top because it wont let me go to the techguy.org website from my computer. I can go to most websites but not www.avg.com or www.techguy.org and also when i google search things and click on the hyperlink it redirects me to buy something.. i am begging for some quick help.. i have been trying to fix this for 2 days now

Hi and welcome.
You may well be still infected.
Post a Hijack this log and we will get a log expert to check it.

  • Save HJTInstall.exe to your desktop.
  • Doubleclick on the HJTInstall.exe icon on your desktop.
  • By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis .
  • Click on Install.
  • It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop.
  • Once installed, it will launch Hijackthis.
  • Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
  • Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
  • Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
  • DO NOT use the AnalyseThis button, its findings are dangerous if misinterpreted.
  • DO NOT have Hijackthis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

Once posted it may be read here or moved to the Malware and Hjt log forum.
