Hey there

The best security suite out there belongs to Symentec: Norton Antivirus and Internet Security

I believe that mostly it's overkill to have such a program on your computer, so i use a free antivirus alternative, Avast! along side Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware which i bought because of its raging support online. I also like WinPatrol for monitoring everything else.

NOD32 from http://www.eset.com is the best for Windows XP. If you have Vista, then Kaspersky is another good choice. Security suites are too bloated and will slow your computer down and use a lot of system resources. Use a router- wired or wireless as a hardware firewall, even if only for one computer. Also turn on the windows firewall and use Windows Defender (free from Microsoft). I use multiple anti-spyware programs, all free, like Spyware Terminator with HIPS, SuperAntiSpyware, and Spyware Doctor (free from Google).

I swear by this one,
http://www.eeye.com/html/products/blink/index.html.
I just have the free version but it is excellent.will be getting the paid version.
Have had norton security suite paid,& norton anti virus paid, didn't like either.
Just give blink a try,if you don't like it you can easily uninstall it..
When i do a vulnerability check i can see if i'm missing any windows patches that leave my system vulnerable & it has links to the windows download site to download the patches,,,plus any other risks.
